Students often ask if Grade 8 is the hardest level you can reach. Grade 8 is only really the beginning, to be honest. Playing music of this standard well should mean that you have now covered the basics of piano playing. Then the exciting work can really begin - Bach Preludes and Fugues, Mozart and Beethoven Piano Sonatas, Chopin Etudes, Debussy Images, Messiaen Vingt Regards... the list is endless!
This is a level I am happy to teach at! Having studied piano at a conservatoire myself, I am comfortable with my knowledge of the repertoire, and can therefore guide you to some excellent pieces of music. I`m also always delighted though to be introduced to a new piece which I haven`t taught or played before! So if you would like to choose your own repertoire, I am equally comfortable with this.
