I have now worked with several students who have dyslexia and ADHD. #59;I am still surprised how late these complications get spotted. #59;I am not a specialist dyslexia tutor, #59;but even I know the Dyslexia Institute offers testing within a few weeks of being asked. #59;

Coloured overlays and larger fonts, #59;can all help with reading. #59;Whilst different coloured paper and using Word #59;even the dyslexia special fonts on #59;a laptop can all help with writing. #59;

Students with these challenges #59;will understandably be reluctant to read. #59;They must be encouraged. #59;It`s the key to literacy. #59;Focus on their interests and get them reading something! If they like sport, #59;the sports pages in the paper. #59;Then move them onto real literature. #59;Adventure writing, So, #59; poems if they like music etc etc. #59;
