We totally rely on energy for survival, but energy can`t be created, only transferred to different forms so what happens when we demand more?

The human population is growing exponentially and in 2050 will reach 9.6 billion! That`s a lot of people, lot`s of people that will all require food, water, clothing, shelter for survival. But to provide more of these essential needs we need more energy.

Energy is a limiting resource- we can`t create it and the main source is from fossil fuels:

  • Coal
  • Oil
  • Gas
Fossil fuels are formed over millions of years from the remains of living organisms deep in the ocean, when they run out, we can`t get more.

But there are other forms of energy: wind, solar, geothermal, tidal, nuclear, etc. so all is not lost if we can develop new technologies quickly!

So can we get more energy?

The short answer is NO- there is a finite amount of energy available in the world, it cannot be created... BUT we can be smarter, think outside the box, make processes more efficient, reduce energy losses, such as those lost as heat.

We can get more useful energy :)
