My little bit of giving back.

We know that our subjects aren`t all the same, don`t we? It is for instance obvious that preparing for an Art exam is different to a History one. Lets zoom a little closer though. What works for subjects with similar assessment methods might not always transfer from one to another.

One reason for this is that the way the work is really assessed can be different. You may be writing for 2 hours in both, but the schemes used to mark that writing can be so so different.

Another reason is that our brains don`t have to be wired exactly the same for each subject. My mind maps in Geography have never got me far in History or Economics for instance.

So step back and think if a one size fits it all approach does work. Maybe it does, but it just might not. That realization might make the difference in increasing our understanding and exam chances.
