How Do We Instill The Joy Of Learning Into Disaffected Young People?

It`s my opinion that our 21st Century Education is not a `One Size Fits All` and many young people have become disaffected and lost the joy of learning.

As a personal tutor I take a great pride in meeting the individual needs of all my young people, helping them to `learn how they learn best`.

Once I have gained their confidence and trust, I truly believe that they are then able to rediscover that `love for learning` as they know they are following a path to successful and fulfilling outcomes.

I hope that most educators share this philosophy, but sadly the `strait-jacket` provided by the National Curriculum, Target Setting, OFSTED Inspections and of course the `Education Minister of the Day` seems to have forced them to follow the protocol and starved them of the oxygen for being creative practitioners.

Imagine if this `one size fits all strait-jacket` was removed, what amazing opportunities there would be for teachers to teach and learners to learn.
