I started my own business as a private tutor in 2015. I teach literacy, numeracy, handwriting, and spelling up to Entrance Exam level/SATs.

During the current crisis, I have now adapted to be able to provide the same face to face service online.

I teach mainstream but also have a vast amount of experience teaching children with dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, autism, and global delay. I also tutor children with behaviour problems. I have an Honours Degree in Psychology, a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (Primary) and a Counselling Skills Certificate. Those three qualifications combined give me the expertise to help children overcome barriers to learning.

I aim high and want all of my pupils to reach their full potential, develop a love of learning, increase their knowledge and skills and also their self-esteem. I thoroughly enjoy utilising my experience to make that happen.

Most important of all - I don`t do dull and boring. Every lesson is planned around the needs of the child whether they are a high achiever or in need of additional support.

Paediatric First Aid Certificate

I qualified to teach in 2003. I have worked with children for many years in a wide range of settings ranging from nurseries, through primary schools, secondary (as a TA only) and a Young Offenders Institute. I have been working as a private tutor since 2015.

I have chosen to tutor because enjoy being free of the constraints of the national curriculum. As a private tutor, I can teach each child what they need to learn rather than what we are told they should learn; that makes a big difference.
