Yasmin

My name is Yasmin. I have over 20 years Teaching experience. I have been on the Senior management team at my last full-time post and I now currently supply for Schools in the area.



I have three children who keep me busy when I am not working. I am a keen gardener and home maker. I enjoy history, art and culture. I`m a positive and kind teacher, who believes in praise and hard work. I have a way of getting children to have more faith in their abilities and be more of a risk taker with their ideas.

Availability: I offer 1:1 and group tuition at very competitive rates. I can cater for 4 to 6 children.

I have Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday available. After school.

Group tuition works well because it provides a bit of healthy competition and can stimulate other ways of reasoning. It can also help with confidence. After teaching one to one for many years We now think many children actually learn better with their peers and find it easier to concentrate when they are not the only ones.

Experience: Prior to having children I was working full time as a Year 3 teacher, Literacy Coordinator and SMT. I have worked in all year groups and have a great understanding of how children learn. I now work part time.

I have used a variety of different teaching approaches and differentiated work to suit ability, to ensure that all children understand learning objectives and are therefore able to work independently.

I have taught many children for the 11+ schools including Nonsuch, Wallington for boys, Sutton and Tiffins. I have high expectations of the children. I refuse to give children endless test papers to do in our time as it is not only a waste of your money but it does not actually prepare children for life in a grammar school.
