Information about Sue
Approachable, efficient and successful personal tutor! I am described as dynamic, enthusiastic and patient.
The range of my experience means that your child can be guaranteed work which will match their actual needs, not be constrained within the limit for their year group, allowing confidence to develop and progress to made. Whether the learner needs assistance in maths, English, preparation for entrance exams or EFL, I can help.
I have had enormous success with coaching pupils to pass entrance examinations to a large number of Selective Schools in Staffordshire, Cheshire, Shropshire and further afield.
Marking Key Stage Two Tests (and the Key stage three tests when they were used) and GCSE exams over the years, helps in giving children a boost in their preparation for these important assessments. I`m frequently employed by schools to boost pupils` performance in English and Maths, with excellent results.
With extensive experience and training in Reading Recovery and Dyslexia strategies, children I`ve been fortunate enough to work with have made significant progress, frequently beyond school expectations. Intensive training and extensive experience has also enabled me to improve pupils` confidence and ability in maths and English.
Availability: Evenings and all day on Saturdays. Weekdays and Saturdays during school holidays. I generally don`t tutor on Sundays - needing time for my family and to prepare for the coming week,
During the current situation, my schools have closed and I am now available to teach via Skype. Each lesson will only involve one child, so it will be very similar to face-to-face sessions.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: Working as a teacher for over 20 years, throughout all four Key Stages, teaching Maths and English and as a tutor for pupils of all ages, I can help your child to reach their full potential.
I`ve designed and delivered programmes for gifted and talented pupils as well as those struggling in mainstream education. Both these groups have one thing in common: their needs are not being met in school.
Marker for Key Stage Two and Three SATs and GSCE English for a number of years. I`ve also marked maths examinations.
EFL tutor for children and adults for over 10 years.

Only had one session so far, Sue was great. Very welcoming, quickly assessed what was needed, and was very reassuring. As an adult needing `refresher` help, I`d highly recommend her.

Tutors Response :
Thank you very much! I`m sure I don`t deserve it.
He focuses well and tries hard to please - which is why he will continue to blossom.
It`s always a pleasure to work with children and see the rapid progression they can make.
My son has only had one session so can`t really provide the excellent rating at this stage but have to say he has already gained valuable knowledge in this very short period of time!
Sue is extremely flexible with times and very encouraging/ motivating. She has already set additional work which she has discussed first so this should lead to more practise and an increase in confidence when approaching papers. This is definitely money well worth spent.
