Information about Sarra

When you take lessons with me, you have access to a wide range of material for all language skills and a very flexible teacher with an ability to work under time pressure if needed to prepare you for an exam.
Whatever your goal is, I will give you plenty of opportunities to practice your spoken skills and don`t worry about being shy or uncomfortable... My students say that it is very pleasant to work with me and they find the lessons fun whilst making steady and noticeable progress within the first lesson :)
I really love teaching and helping people who want to learn "and it shows" said one of my students... My classes are a mix of conversation, progressive, crisp and clear explanations of the grammar, and tools to expand your knowledge of the French language.

At the end of each lesson, you will receive notes from the interactive whiteboard that we use during lesson time + the new vocabulary that came up during the lesson.
If you are an adult learner and wish to practice French in between lessons, you will also receive consistent homework after each lesson where, typically, you can focus on a formal written task in order to practice the grammar and the new vocabulary as well as an online listening exercise using an extract of a French speaking TV programme.

Availability: I am available from Monday to Saturday starting at 10.00am to 8pm. I am flexible with my other activities so I could accomodate according to your timetable also.

Experience: I started my teaching career as a tutor when I was still in France (2007-2008) and I was already really enjoying it. I taught English to French native pupils during my language studies and noticed that they were making steady progress not only academically but also as people.

In 2009, I moved to the UK and worked in three schools as a language assistant, taking groups or individuals to support them develop their exam skills or with those who were simply language enthusiasts. This experience led me to take a step further and train as a fully qualified teacher so as to get involved in education all together.

For 6 years, I worked in a secondary school as a whole class teacher, preparing students for the GCSE and AS/A-Level exams. It was a vibrant environment where I developed teaching strategies, a better knowledge of how people learn and juggled with the many language learning tools out there.

Being in constant interaction with others and as a professional of education, I have also found it meaningful to develop my counselling skills. I therefore trained with the charity Place2be and volunteered as child counsellor. This has brought a lot of clarity on how to listen to and support my students.

See the online tutoring part for more about my experience... :)
