I am approachable,easygoing and pragmatic. My tutoring style is open discussion that promotes active and creative participation in both my direct and online sessions to engage and promote interactive learning. I work with a wide range of content and materials, I encourage learners to understand from first principles, organise their knowledge and ideas, summarise, apply critical analysis (where appropriate) using techniques such as annotated notes, mind-maps and other methods that includes interactive media to optimise learning, memory retention and increase synoptic (bring it all together) understanding.
My approach helps to build confidence in the subject and the ability to learn and apply new knowledge by helping you organise, understand, analyse and connect topics and ideas, and then apply it. Once these techniques become second nature, you develop the ability to learn and revise more quickly .
I tutor using methods to support students meet their specified education curriculum assessment criteria in exam questions; skills such as interpretation, summary, critical analysis, organisation and structure to present inferences ,insights and perception in their responses and, express themselves using key terms and more sophisticated vocabulary.
I support students to develop the depth of knowledge and practise the skills to meet the required assessment criteria at their highest potential; a graduated step by step process, developing and combining different sets of their knowledge and practice: breaking things into smaller bits and then putting it together as a whole. Finally, possibly the most important, is link all these bits of knowledge into bigger chunks (synthesize) until it is connected as a whole picture (synoptic learning).
I have over 20 years tutoring and coaching in a wide range of subjects, all of which require a strong grounding in the use of English, application of Science and Maths knowledge and their core principles.
Most recently, (8 years) most of my time has been dedicated to the preparation for Sats, 11 & 13+, and KS2 to KS4 students at the new curriculum standards for all Education Awarding Bodies in English, English Literature, Sciences, Maths, Business Studies and Finance,Accounting at GCSE and A levels. The emphasis of my tutoring approach is to support students become independent learners, go beyond the explicit (what is being said), explore and interpret (infer) the (implicit) and demonstrate their written skills.
It gives me real pleasure when students surprise themselves with their new understanding and impressed by their own capability.
Additionally, I tutor adult and mature learners at Degree level (including MBA and PhD) for Change Management, Human Resources, Organisational Development .Operations and Finance. In this regard the emphasis is on helping you solidify your analytical, knowledge organisation skills and build your knowledge synoptically. This approach has been helpful to students who have gaps in their learning, transitioning from one learning institution to another or have missed learning topics.
A key area that I support at degree,diploma and PHd is helping structure your essays, assignments or dissertation research. The desired result is to support you to create the links between topics, develop greater personal insights or interpretations, categorise large volumes of disparate research papers in a timely manner,develop a writing process, develop and present concepts; as well as support you to develop fresh perspectives on ideas, theories, concepts in application.
Availability: I tutor face to face and online,during the day (for homeschooling), evenings and on weekends, subject to availability at my home or at your location, depending upon distance.
On specific requests, subject to availability, I do block tutoring for those students who are a fair distance away as intensive assists. I have been using interactive online tutoring for over 8 years, with an option of professional, interactive and secure easy to use and reliable tools that facilitate screen share, reviewing and writing notes. This is especially effective for exam preparation, assisting with dissertations and essays. These tools can also record a session for future revision and reference.

Miss Rita really helped in the small time I had to study for my English Language exam , not only did she make the lessons fun and interesting she happily explained to me everything I wasn`t able to understand and gave detailed and easy explanations. Rita is an excellent tutor, knowledgeable and systematic, in just 5 lessons she identified the gaps in knowledge, developed a tutoring strategy, helped to get a better understanding of the subject and clarify difficult areas. Can`t recommend her more highly for Business studies.

Rita`s idea of writing out notes displayed by her virtually, I think its time consuming and its not the best way of utilising the time we have and our resources.There is nothing wrong, if she sends me the materials after the lesson. From the SBL topic we covered, I realised that SBL was not her strongest subject. Rita encountered Internet problem at one point, we had to finish the rest of the lesson on our mobile phones.

Rita is indeed very knowledgeable, kind and patient. She is the right teacher for parents who look for tuition for children in the primary school which include 11+. She also teaches pupils in A levels and adults too. For us, this is a trial lesson only. Unfortunately, we are unable to start the private tuition immediately because of some personal reasons.

I had a meeting with his English class teacher last week and he has said there has be a drastic improvement with Nathan in a very short time.
