I have been tutoring mathematics part-time since 2012. I will tutor for KS3, GCSE, A Level, Degree level, or Functional Skills. If you are not a student but wish to learn about particular areas of mathematics that interest you, then I can prepare lessons on selected topics. Adult learners are welcome and group sessions are possible for friends or siblings. I hope that I can share my enthusiasm for mathematics and help you to achieve your academic goals.

I am laid back and try to keep my tutorials relaxed. My aims are to provide clear and concise explanations, to work through lots of examples, and to build your confidence in mathematics. If you find that you often struggle with maths, then we can take a step back and plug any holes in your knowledge.

Availability: I am currently taking on new students and have good availability through the week. Since COVID most of my tutoring has been done online but depending on location I may be able to travel to you.

Experience: I have seven years experience of tutoring GCSE, A Level and degree level students as a private tutor. I have over forty hours teaching experience at a successful sixth form college and also have taught at a further education college. I have worked as an assistant for university problem classes.

I have a first class honours degree in Mathematics (MMath) and an MRes research degree in Mathematics in the Living Environment, both from the University of York. One of the most useful skills I developed during my studies was the ability to communicate new ideas well. During my MRes degree I completed several research projects, and this ability was very important when discussing my work with my peers and supervisors. I also have experience of giving talks and leading seminars.
