I recently taught in a very successful independent school in the Mid Sussex area. I have been a physics teacher for over 30 years and have taught at all secondary levels.
My speciality is at GCSE and A level, and as I have now switched to teaching part time I now have time to help students understand and support the work they are doing at school or college.
I work from home and therefore students will need to be able to travel to Burgess Hill. I am within walking distance of the railway station.
I have taught almost all physics GCSE and A level specifications in my 30+ year career.
I have been both a Head of Physics and Head of Science.
I have been tutoring for the past three years and I am proud to say that this year those students who were willing to see me regularly (and work hard at home) all gained top grades.
My approach to tutoring is to try and help you understand the principles of physics and from there you will hopefully grow in confidence and learn to realise that physics can be straightforward and, most importantly, rewarding.
Initially I offer a free consultation where we can meet to discuss your requirements and see if I can be of help to you.
Availability: Available during the week, but not weekends.
Tutoring from home only, I live a short walk from Burgess Hill station.

Brilliant! As a tutor myself, I know that the best tutors are the experienced teachers who understand the curriculum and the exam system. A physics degree, on its own, is not enough. Martin confirms this. He works in a knowledgeable and structured way through each area. My son(an A grade student)says he didn`t realise how much he didn`t know, until he went to Martin! I am confident that Martin`s skill as a teacher will help my son to get the A level grade he is aiming for. Why didn`t we do this sooner?! An exceptional teacher.

Martin tutored my daughter in the run up to her physics A` level. She had not done well in her AS and was lacking confidence. Under Martin`s supervision, she became much more confident and knowledgeable. She retook some modules of her physics AS at the same time as sitting her A2 and achieved an overall outcome of a B at A2. This was a fantastic result for her. I would highly recommend Martin to anyone who needs physics tuition from a highly experienced tutor. Worth every penny.

Great tutor. My son travelled over 20 miles each week for an hour with Martin and says it was well worth it. Very experienced tutor - a disappointing E grade AS level was transformed to a B grade A level with a year of hard work and excellent tutoring from Martin.
