Information about Chris
Hi, I am Chris, and I have just graduated with a 2:1 in history from the University of Sheffield. I am a keen and active student who participates in many different activities and sports such as squash, tennis, athletics as well as sitting on the History department council and faculty student forum. I have a keen passion for history which developed since the start of primary school. I enjoyed my degree and believe I achieved highly. I have very competitive rates and am available most time so feel free to contact me for further information about how I can help you and your child achieve better grades.
My tutoring approach is dependent upon the student and can be both laid back and focussed. I like to engage with the student and make sure they understand what they are being taught in basic terms and therefore my tutoring technique involves getting them involved in a variety of different tasks in order to make them engage with the material. I also offer tips for exams and revision and work with students on how to answer exam questions and the best techniques to help cope with homework they may be struggling with.
Availability: I am available weekdays and weekends as well as evenings. I am a university student and am currently timetabled to be in University only 4 hours a week so most times I available, feel free to contact me for more information on my availability.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have taken part in various peer mentoring schemes which have seen me tutor and look after a younger member of the university and school on both an academic and social level. In addition to this I participate in workshops through the History in the City scheme where I enter schools helping A level students deal with a variety of different historical practices such as dealing with sources and historiography.
