Information about Sarah

Qualified teacher offering A level biology, GCSE science, maths and english tuition and fun science lessons for younger children to students of all abilities. Students with special educational needs welcome.
On average a student receiving exam tuition improves by two grades with tuition and some students making a significantly greater improvement.
Tuition is student led and individually tailored to the ability and requirements of each student.
At the moment I am absolutely fully booked in the evenings and have limited availability during the day and at weekends.
I have been working with various home educating families for three years now, an experience both I and the children have thoroughly enjoyed. I can provide both fun, practical based science lessons for children aged 13 and under and tuition in GCSE courses for children of any age who are ready to begin studying for exams.

Three years ago I undertook professional development training to be able to offer English lnaguage and literature tuition up to GCSE. Students have so far improved by an average of 3 grades followig English Tuition.
This summer I am undertaking further professional development training to be able to offer maths up to GCSE. I have been tutoring students in KS2 and KS3 maths for three years with considerable success.

I can also cater for groups of younger children, such as for home education social groups. GROUP lessons are £40 per hour for up to 15 children.

Please note that due to the recent increase in petrol costs lessons located more than 5 miles away from me will incur a £2.50 travel charge and lessons located more than 20 miles away will incur a £5 travel charge. I will not be able to travel to students located more than 5 miles away except on designated days. (Monday and Tuesday West Bridgford, Wednesday Lincoln, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday Newark). More flexibility is usually possible nearer exam time to accommodate extra lessons.

Sarah has been brilliant with my children aged 6 and 8, exploring various practical science lessons which have been very interactive and the children have both really engaged with the theory that she teaches them behind it.

Sarah is friendly and professional. She has helped my son with exam techniques and how to apply his knowledge succinctly. She has boosted his confidence and he now feels far more positive about his own abilities. Recommended!
