I have worked in Research for over 15 years. I completed my doctoral training in Molecular Biology at Leeds University and then traveled to the US to work for their government at the National Institute of Health. Here I worked on elucidating the mechanisms behind the genetics of aging. After 5 productive years in the US I returned home to take a contract position with King`s College, London working on developing a novel method of Gene targeting. My contract finished over Christmas and I am looking to take my career in a new direction and am considering undertaking a PGCE teaching course which would allow me to teach in Secondary schools up to A level.

Availability: Evenings and weekends. Daytime during school hours as well.

Experience: I have had extensive experience teaching students from my doctoral training days until my last post as a Post Doctoral Research Associate at King`s College, London. I have mentored and trained students from undergraduate level to Ph. D level throughout my 15 years of science. In addition, I have lectured students in their final year undergraduate year. I have privately worked with tutees for the past 12 years. I tutor Early Learning support, KS 1, 2 and 3 English, Maths and Science, Exam Preparation, 11+ preparation (CEM and GL), ISEB, general literacy and numeracy skills, GCSE/IGCSE Biology/Science, AS and A Level Biology (AQA, OCR, EDEXCEL) and Higher Education/Adult Education Biology (B. Sc, M. Sc, Ph. D). I have tutored students engaged in many different courses including a Massage Course (Physiology and Anatomy), Medical students (Imperial College-outstanding firsts!) and Nursing and Midwifery (Greenwich-98% Biology modules). Following intensive tutoring past A level students have achieved from a predicted U to A in her tutored module (OCR-June 2012), and predicted U to C in just 8 sessions (OCR June 2013). I have successfully worked with students of primary age with their Maths and English, with outstanding improvements for those in KS2. I have extensive experience and knowledge of 11plus CEM and GL exams
