Hello,

I am a passionate and qualified primary school teacher living in Lodge Moor, Sheffield. I have been teaching since 2010 and I have taught from Reception to Year 7.

I have been tutoring since the beginning of my teaching career and I love working one to one with children, really getting to know them as individuals and their learning style. I am very friendly and outgoing and find shy children open up very quickly to me in a more personal environment.

I usually assess children with age appropriate tests for the first session to see where their gaps are. I always talk through with the children what I am doing and reassure them that I am there to help them, to encourage them to be open with me about what they find difficult and their needs. I then work through each area of learning with the child until they are confident and ready to move on.

I find using my iPad with the children, for starters and plenaries, really gets them excited about their learning. I tend to use spelling apps and quick fire timestables games as well as maths fluency games.

I can set homework where needed on a weekly basis and I have lots of resources to help in all areas of maths and literacy for all ages.
