Qualified primary teacher (20+ years in primary schools) with extensive experience of one-to-one tuition for individual students.
I am an enthusiastic and creative primary teacher with comprehensive delivery of the primary curriculum, particularly in KS2 (ages 7-11).
In addition I have wide experience of one-to-one tuition, specialising in preparation for SATS, Eleven Plus and Entrance exams - all aspects of English, Maths and Verbal/Non-Verbal Reasoning covered.
At the initial meeting with a new student I will sensitively discuss their needs, goals and preferred learning style. Each subsequent tuition session will be planned to meet these targets in an enjoyable way, making use of a wide range of appropriate resources.
My extensive teaching experience supports my firmly held belief that one-to-one tuition really does boost confidence and performance.
Availability: I am available to tutor afternoons in my own home - when the pandemic is over!

Experience: 25+ years teaching in primary schools - mostly Key Stage 2, plus Supply teaching work - nursery to age 11, Home-tutoring students aged 7 - 12 in English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning skills for SATS and 11+ entrance exams - 100 % successful pass rate in last 5 years.

Though it is a while ago, I realised that I forgot to put the review for Linda. Linda is such a lovely and experienced English Teacher. She made the subject so simple for my son that he not only enjoyed the lessons but built his confidence as well. With her dedication and guidance my son attained a fantastic grade in English at the end of the year 6. Thank you Linda.

Sonia, thank you so much for your lovely comments. Ryan was a great student and deserved all his success. How is he doing nowadays? I have retired now after successfully tutoring my grandchildren and they are all enjoying their grammar schools and Archbishop Temple.
In fact it you know of anyone who would be interested in 11+ resources I have loads of them and it seems a shame to throw them out!

Linda has recently started to tutor my son in English at a Year 6 level. After a thorough discussion into his needs, he has a weekly 1 hour lesson. In my sons words "Linda is really kind and makes the lessons interesting. I even like doing the homework she leaves me"! In the short time he`s been having the lessons his vocabulary has increased and his use of punctuation has improved. I wouldn`t hesitate to recommend Linda.
