I am a fully qualified and experienced teacher with a real passion for teaching. Currently, as well as being Assistant Headteacher, I am also a full-time Class Teacher. I am calm and patient and believe that this is vital when working with children. I am organised, enthusiastic and able to form excellent relationships with children, which I feel is key in enabling them to fulfil their full potential.

I have been a teacher for over 14 years and during this time have taught pupils of all abilities and ages from Key Stage 1 through to Key Stage 2. As a result, I have a thorough and and up to date understanding of the National Curriculum. I tutor primary school pupils in Maths and English as well as prepare children for the 11+ entrance exams where I have an excellent success and satisfaction rate. My students have been successful in gaining a places at a number of reputable and sought after schools such as Watford Grammar, Henrietta Barnett, Aldenham School, Mill Hill County, Queen Elizabeth, St Helens, Northwood College and Langley Grammar School.

My teaching experience has demonstrated that there cannot be one definite style of teaching. Each child is individual and has their own preferred learning style. I believe that once a child finds a tutor that they are comfortable with and enjoy learning with, they will make accelerated progress. In all my lessons, I aim to build confidence and self esteem in pupils through maintaining high expectations and providing enjoyable and challenging learning experiences in order for them to achieve and develop a sense of success. My teaching style is clear , precise and organised incorporating the use of a variety of stimulating teaching methods, resources and activities to help children to progress further in their learning and reach their full potential. This approach has enabled me to enhance pupils` confidence and hence allow them to exceed their expectations.

During the first session I will identify the child`s learning style and assess their strengths and areas of improvement. This will then be used to plan future sessions accordingly.

Availability: Weekday evenings and weekends

Experience: Teaching in primary schools and private tutoring including preparation for the 11 plus entrance exams.
