I am an English teacher with over 8 years experience teaching within local secondary and primary schools. I am a friendly and supportive person who gets excellent results by making lessons fun as well as informative. I always discuss the needs of my new pupils very carefully and aim to build their confidence in the subject. I find that practice in exam techniques invariably helps to rapidly improve grades.
I prep students for exams at GCSE, IGCSE and at A Level, providing techniques and strategies in planning and answering essay questions as well as conversation and grammar practice for languages. I have extensive knowledge of all exam boards and syllabi,in particular AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Eduqas, as well as IGCSE and Cambridge exam boards (CIE).
I also provide support and tutor children in preparation for 11+ and common entrance exams, with many pupils gaining places at their desired school.
In addition, I am experienced in teaching English to adults in preparation for IELTS and Cambridge exams.

I regularly attend courses to keep up-to-date with changes within the curriclum and syllabi and am qualified to teach the new English and languages GCSE 9-1 which will first be examined in 2017.

I encourage independent and critical thinking and like to provide an insight into European culture, through Literature and Art.
