Information about April
I am a Clinical Scientist specialising in Haematology, working at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. I offer private tuition, in addition to teaching as part of my job role (which includes medical students, nurses, qualified doctors and scientists). I am also a STEM ambassador and provide interactive workshops in schools for GCSE students. This means I have a wealth of tutoring experience, and can adopt my tutoring style to fit the needs of the student and ensure they get the most out of each session.
I am able to teach Biology at AS and A2 level to a high standard, whilst providing a relaxed environment in which students feel free to ask questions and highlight their weaknesses. I think a friendly working environment is essential and as an approachable person, students can point out which topics concern or confuse them without feeling embarrassed. This then allows us to tackle these areas and make students feel confident in themselves.

Experience: I began offering biology tuition whilst studying at university and realised not only was teaching something I greatly enjoyed, I also seemed to be good at it! My students saw their marks and confidence increase, something I really enjoyed being a part of.
I tutor one-on-one sessions (in addition to hosting group tutorials and lectures) and have participated in several school workshops, so I feel comfortable teaching a range of audiences. All feedback I have received is excellent, and students enjoy my relaxed, friendly teaching style.
