I am a qualified Doctor of Energy Engineering and a qualified teacher of Higher Education (with accreditation to The Higher Education Academy).
I returned to Higher Education as a mature student after previously teaching adults in the workplace, and young adults in schools. After completing my MSc, PhD, and Higher Education Academy teaching qualification at the University of Leeds, I have worked as a University Researcher, Tutor and Lecturer at Universities in England and Scotland.
I have ten academic journal publications on engineering, and have one published book.
My specialist knowledge is in practical/experimental science and engineering from University Foundation-level (so A-level equivalent) to post-graduate level, in addition to assignment completion to publication standard and project supervision. My specific areas of expertise are thermodynamics, renewable energy, chemical analysis (environmental and characterisation), process engineering, university assignments, all foundation-level engineering and mathematics.
I will provide references along with CRB disclosure.
Willing to travel: 12 miles
Experience: I have ten years` experience of teaching core engineering skills (maths, excel, report writing, fluid flow, mechanics, physics, chemistry) to undergraduates at University, and also supervising undergraduate final year dissertations. I have two years` experience of teaching chemical analysis to MSc students at University, and four years of teaching postgraduate renewable energy and thermodynamics.
I have nine years` experience of tutoring student projects and marking University Engineering assignments for students whose first language is not English.
