I am a very experienced secondary school science teacher, specialising in preparing students for A level Biology and Chemistry.

I am also an A level examiner.

I have an excellent understanding of the examination system and on how to target specific areas to help improve examination grades.

My sessions are very focused and target key areas, to help students achieve their full potential. I ensure students feel they can proceed at their own pace and ask questions to secure an excellent understanding of their subject. Confidence in subject knowledge especially at A level is very important.

In Biology students frequently struggle with applied questions and this is an area we focus on looking in particular at the use of key words in answers and correct data interpretation to access marks.

In Chemistry having a really good foundation of the principles of Inorganic and Organic chemistry are key to achieving top grades at A level. Questions around the practical aspect of Chemistry are often overlooked and not given sufficient attention. Some students struggle with the mathematical aspect of the course and we can work on this specifically. We can work on any aspect the student feels they need to improve.

Experience: I am an experienced teacher and A level examiner who has extensive experience of preparing students for A level examinations. I have taught both Biology and Chemistry to A Level and have been sixth form focused for the past 10 years.

My experience as an A level examiner ensures I can work with students to achieve the very best grades. As competition for university places increases, I am fully aware of the importance of achieving the best grades to secure a place. I will work with students to ensure they are fully prepared and ready for examinations.

I run booster classes in the holiday periods to ensure students are ready for examinations.

I also continue with sessions throughout the summer holidays to consolidate AS learning and to prepare students for their A2 studies
