I am a fully qualified and devoted primary school teacher, who works full time as an Upper Key stage two teacher in a well established Prep School. I have been teaching for 28 years, and I have taught throughout the primary years as both a classroom teacher and as subject leader in English and PSHE. I have held the posts of head of Year 4 and 5 and head of a school house. I have spent many weekends, throughout my career tutoring primary school children in and around my local area. Over several recent summers I have taught children / teenagers English from overseas in a well regarded summer school. I have also been a host parent for several European teenagers who wish to improve their English in full immersion of an English family home. So not only do I welcome teaching English children but have recent experience of teaching EAL students.

I enjoy working with children in the class room and on a one to one basis as I see them blossom to reach their full potential in the time I work with them.

I am happy to work with your child in person or online via zoom / video link. I am fully versed in teaching online, particularly after the pandemic, where I was teaching my class via video call for 6 hours + everyday for over 2 months. I quickly learnt the skills of the trade, so welcome online learners.

I specialise in primary English and Maths, but I also tutor those that need extra help in reading, science and ICT. I am a proficient in teaching and preparing children for the 11+ exams and have extensive knowledge in working through and teaching the verbal, non-verbal, Maths and English tests. I have also tutored many children in preparing for the Year 6 SATS tests

I have a wealth of primary teaching experience and I am very happy to continue this with your child on a one to one basis. The sessions I provide are interesting, exciting and above all FUN. Each session is tailored made to your child, be it at home or online.

I have a variety of learning materials, to use online and in books. I ask that stationary is provided by you. To see great progress from young learners children need frequent and regular sessions.

Availability: I am available to tutor in person and online on a Saturday and online on Sundays. During school holidays I am available too. I am very flexible with hours, but I MUST be given 24 hours cancellation notice. Other wise the standard hourly rate will apply.
I am available to tutor on a Saturday during term times as well.
I am happy to come to your home but would also be happy for your child to be tutored at my home. Which ever is more comfortable for you and your child. Online tutoring sessions will last 1 hour.
