Head of Mathematics at Tuition Centre for 4+ years -
Teaching mathematics to students from KS2 to A-level. Appointed as Head of Maths in July 2016 with further responsibilities:
Consulting the Head Teacher regarding improvements to the day-to-day structure of the tuition centre. This includes managing over £10,000 of company resources as well as setting up special support classes for low achieving students. The class set up allowed the centre to achieve a 100% pass rate.
Created and currently direct a comprehensive training scheme for new teachers to follow, which includes all aspects of tutoring from teaching a group of 5 students to marking homework efficiently.
Provide free boosters classes to large groups of over 20 students during school holidays, focusing on exam preparation which enabled all students to reach and exceed their predicted grades including 6 grade 9s (A**).
Collaborate with colleagues to develop a strategy to deliver classes of the highest quality.
Adapt teaching approach depending on capability of the student to ensure they learn and meet lesson objectives.
Record and document the progress of all students before providing practical improvements such as smart targets.
