My name is Catherine and I am a qualified primary school teacher. As well as having experience of working with children in KS1 and KS2, I have also worked in early years which has given me an excellent knowledge of teaching phonics and early reading. Most recently I have specialized in teaching children who need extra support with learning to read and write as well as those who struggle with math’s concepts.
My lessons are carefully planned to meet the needs of each individual child, using relevant strategies to make sure that every child meets their potential. I am able to identify specific gaps in children’s learning and understanding and plan lessons to meet them. Often children who struggle lack confidence in themselves and their abilities so I support them to build their skills and deepen their knowledge so that they can have greater confidence in the classroom.
I aim to make all my lessons meaningful and use a range of games and concrete resources as well as appropriate worksheets and challenges.
