Information about Mark
I believe children are our most precious resource and a great education is the greatest gift we can give them. I have many years experience of teaching Primary and Secondary students and I have taught international students in Ascot at St Mary`s and online. I specialize in teaching the 11+ entrance exam and entrance exams for independent schools. The students I taught last year all went on to pass the exam and entered their first choice of secondary school. The schools included: Queen Elizabeth`s, Watford Old Boys, Langley, King Edwards, Doctor Challoner`s and the Slough consortium to name a few. My recent role is to provide education within the students home as a home-school teacher for students who cannot access mainstream schooling.
Availability: I`m available Monday to Friday and some weekends at an additional charge.
Willing to travel: 30 miles
Experience: I`ve worked in Education for the past 15 years. I`ve been offering 1 to 1 tuition for the past 6 years. I`m a teacher with experience in primary and secondary schools. I currently teach in a specialist school, teaching students with SEN. I provide online tuition to international students based abroad and I have taught international students at the prestigious St Marys in Ascot for Oxford Royale Academy. I provide tuition in Key Stage 1 to 4 and GCSE, I also provide tuition for the 11+ Grammar school entrance exam and all of the children I have tutored have gone on to pass the 11+ entrance exam. I specialize in teaching children with SEN included Autistic and Dyslexic children. In my current role I teach children with complex issues including mental health. I am also a GCSE Examiner, marking the History and English papers. Most recently I have provided home-schooling to students with learning needs who cannot access mainstream education.
Feedback For Mark (7)
Mark has just started helping our Yr 2 child. The sessions are over zoom due to lockdown which isnt ideal but so far so good. Mark is really organised; the sessions are well planned using interactive media, sharing screens, etc.; he is encouraging yet firm and has a good range of strategies to keep our easily distracted and frustrated child engaged. Our child looks forward to the sessions and, having been sceptical about whether it would work over zoom, we are pleased with how they are going.
My son has been working with Mark for a few months now and from the very first lesson he was excited to have another session with Mark! Mark has been very flexible and understanding, would recommend.
Mark is very professional and genuine he cares about his students and adapts his teaching to his student. Works at the pace so ensure student is happy before moving on.
Excellent tutor extremely patient and clear, knows his subject like the back of his hand and has made me so confident that I will pass. He was always punctual and had a good balance between work and a little chat so that I did not become bored or overwhelmed. Overall 5/5 stars for a top guy
Just from a handful of lessons, Mark has helped our daughter click where she simply wasnt getting it before... fantastic. The lessons will continue. Mark is very gentle, and excellent with a youngster.
Mark is a great tutor. My child enjoys the lessons and I see the improvement in subject.
Mark is a really friendly, understanding tutor. My child has had a few lessons, and although she struggles with this subject, she has realised that she can produce some good ideas and work. And slowly bit by bit her confidence and understanding is growing. I would recommend Mark as a tutor, he is patience and tolerant, but still encourages my child to think on her own, but still challenges her as the same time.
