Information about Frances
I am a committed educational practitioner with an excellent track record for delivering English Literature and Language at all levels (entry level to degree level). I currently work for a charity during the day, working with learners with additional needs these can include: dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism, ADHD, behavioural problems and other learning difficulties.
Availability: evenings after 6pm
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have over fifteen years experience of designing and delivering an excellent standard of training and tutoring within: the community, Higher Education and Further Education. I currently work with The Prince`s Trust and deliver English up to and including GCSE level. However, I have tutored, coached and taught English at A level and degree level during my fifteen year history as: a mentor/mentor trainer, Achievement Coach and teacher. I have recently had excellent success with A level tutees in language where my tutee gained the C grade that he needed to get into the university of his choice and my lovely Lit/Lang student gained the A grade that she required to get into Kings College London (Well done Sophie!) I also had success with my GCSE tutee who was awarded a respectable C grade enabling him to apply for the apprenticeship he wanted to.Contact this Tutor
Feedback For Frances (11)
Frances is quite an exceptional english tutor to my two boys. Not only is she really engaging with them but she`s really got them to focus and enjoy all elements of reading and writing. She`s also really experienced in helping one of my son`s with his Irlens Syndrome, giving him confidence and methods to work around some of his reading and writing challenges.
Our only regret is we didn`t find Frances earlier to help them both - in less than a month their progress with her has been quite amazing!
Tutors Response :
Thank you for the feedback Michael; both boys are a joy to teach.
Frances easy happy style brought out confidence in Jack, that had previously been fear, where English was concerned. He started to enjoy learning english and valued his time with Frances helping him navigate exams in a subject that he had always struggled in.
My only regret is that we did not find Frances sooner, so that she could have had a bigger impact on his enjoyment of the subject..
Tutors Response :
Thanks for the feedback Tom; Jack was a delight to tutor and I am as delighted as he is about him gaining a 6 for his English Language!
Frances was welcoming and soon put my Grandaughter at ease . She has made learning fun for her .
Frances is a excellent teacher with fantastic knowledge she makes learning interesting for my son, which is part of the battle.
Frances has helped me to focus and given me a clear plan to prepare for A level English lit exams. Francis explains things in a way that I can relate to and gives me positive and constructive feedback. She makes me feel relaxed and at ease in her company with her great sense of humour. I actually look forward to each session with her.
I am a recent University graduate who has struggled with dyslexia throughout my entire educational life. Once I started to apply for jobs, I decided that getting a tutor would be the best idea for me, to make me more confident both applying for jobs and in my job role.
Frances has been excellent because she; listened to my needs and tailored each session appropriately, gave me coping strategies for tasks I struggled with and allowed me to find a way that I learn best.
Both my skills and confidence have grown greatly through having Frances as my tutor and I cannot recommend her enough, she is amazing.
Frances has been such a positive influence on Harry and his learning. Her enthusiasm for English and sharing with Harry has really provided benefits not only in his GCSE results but also his confidence and attitude to learning. I would not hesitate to recommend Frances.
Frances is teaching my son who has dyslexia and in year 10. She understands totally the problems he has with his learning, which I feel is so refreshing. She is always positive and showing my son different ways to learn as well as bringing out his ability and strengths. She is honest and fair and open about how the teaching is going. If anyone is looking for a dyslexia teacher or just a fantastic English teacher , I think we have found her.
Frances has been tutoring my Daughter for a few weeks now after I contacted her when my Daughter failed her English GCSE resits. Frances teaching methods are very clear and precise and the sessions are also run with a lot of fun built into them which results in my Daughter finishing all the assignments given to her and she looks forward to attending the sessions. I have every confidence that with Frances support and tuition, the next exam will be successfully passed
Very approachable and down to earth. My son responded very well to her.
Frances has been working with my daughter now for the last couple of weeks, my daughters has always struggled at school and was unwilling to learn or do homework with me, Frances has changed all this and my daughter is now will to learn and actually enjoys her time with Frances. Thanks you very much Frances. Janine
