Information about David

I professionally manage a recording studio in Bermondsey and specialise in acoustic/electric instrument tracking and microphone placement, I also mix/master the music I record and am an experienced Cubase user. Often my role as head producer will call on my abilities as a music arranger/composer to give direction to artists and bands that require some help in realising their project`s potential - I mean this both sonically and in helping with composition. This is the venue where I have taught in the past.
My approach is very hands-on, I usually invite my clients to the studio (though I`m happy teaching in other studios) and run workshops on specific methods of recording and mixing/mastering. This could include learning some basics like understanding routing and signal processing, or it could be an advanced workshop on corrective equalisation - either way the method is very practical and I take time to allow the tutee to gain some hands-on experience.

Availability: As a self-employed studio engineer and live-sound engineer I have a very flexible schedule. I`m happy to work day-times and evenings.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: In the past I worked as the music technician at James Allen`s Girls` School, my role included one-on-one tuition of Cubase and music arrangement/composition.
Presently I offer tuition in recording techniques, microphone placement and audio mixing to my clients - this is largely included in their recording packages, so very often I will run sessions that involve as much audio tracking as me showing my clients how to effectively mic-up a drum kit for example.
