Information about Danny
If you are looking for a passionate science and maths tutor with experience teaching A-Level and GCSE at a high-performing school, I might be the tutor you are after!
After 2 years of teaching A-Level Physics, GCSE Science and Mathematics at an 11-18 secondary academy and sixth-form provision in Leeds, I have relocated to my home city of Sunderland to work as a tutor during the pandemic. I have an enhanced DBS certificate that is updated annually.
I graduated from the University of Leeds in 2018 with a Master`s degree in Theoretical Physics and supported my studies by delivering high-quality tuition as a mentor to younger undergraduates, as part of a charity working with disadvantaged secondary school pupils and as a private tutor in 1-1 sessions. After graduating, I trained as a teacher specialising in Physics and Maths, receiving my PGCE and obtaining full Qualified Teacher Status in 2019 and completing my NQT induction in 2020.
My tuition ranges from A-Level (Physics, Maths and FMaths - I particularly love mechanics) to GCSE Science and Maths (including Stats). I began tutoring when I was studying for my own A-Levels and over the last 7 years I have developed a teaching style that focuses on real-world scenarios to engage my learners.
I am an excellent motivator with outstanding subject knowledge and a wealth of resources that I have collated during my time as a teacher in one of the top-performing schools in the Leeds area. As a result, I can tailor my tuition to support the individual needs of any pupil, regardless of their background and abilities.
Don`t hesitate to drop me a message if you are interested in the services I have on offer. Get your first session free of charge!

Working as a private tutor was instrumental in developing my relaxed-yet-passionate teaching style. I have instilled confidence in all of my tutees and I am currently enjoying receiving updates about their university studies.
My work with the Tutor trust in conjunction with teaching staff in various schools in and around Leeds provided tuition to disadvantaged pupils, opening my eyes to the importance of adapting teaching to suit the needs of individual students.

Fantastic, understanding and adaptable tutor. Has helped my son with the terminology of physics in a way that he could understand. Has helped him find the enjoyment again in the subject and is helping him with exam techniques. He has a wonderful understanding of physics and maths and shares his knowledge is a great way to help promote the confidence in the learner. Can`t thank him enough for the help he is giving my son, he really looks forward to his tutoring sessions and communication is always great.
