I am a fully qualified primary school teacher(QTS), with over 40 years experience teaching in primary schools. I am currently teaching part time in a London primary school. I also tutor on weekday evenings , weekends and school holidays.

I tutor maths, English and science to primary age children. Additionally, I tutor GCSE maths and English to secondary school students. I focus on different areas within the subjects, depending on the needs of the student. In English this includes: word reading, phonics, reading comprehension, spoken language , writing, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary. In maths this includes: numeracy, times tables, number facts, mathematical reasoning and problem solving.

I am very enthusiastic and friendly and I love working with children and young adults. I am very organised and I ensure every session is thoroughly planned and resourced to meet the needs of each student. I believe in working closely with parents and students to discuss progress and to set the next steps in learning. Through ongoing assessments, observations and questioning, I establish the student’s strengths, weaknesses, gaps in knowledge and skills, and how he/she learns best and use this information to plan the following sessions.
I help many students through Sats tests and school entrance exams.

Availability: weekday evenings, weekends and school holidays.

Willing to travel: 10 miles
