I am a recent First Class BSc Mathematics graduate and an experienced English and Maths tutor. I have been awarded with the Institute of Maths and its Application Prize (2015) for outstanding performance. I completed my A-levels at Woodhouse College, where I studied Maths, English Literature and Psychology and achieved A*, A*, A respectively.
I possess strong communication skills and the ability to explain both mathematical and literary concepts clearly. I have also studied a variety of common texts, including but not limited to Of Mice and Men, The Great Gatsby, Dracula and Othello.
My aim is always to build a tutee`s confidence and thus, help them to realise and achieve their full potential; usually, beyond their own expectations. I support students through their school work and strongly encourage them to undertake exam practice, as I consider this to be most beneficial. l can effectively tailor my approach to suit individual needs.
Availability: Any time on weekdays and weekends; term time and during the school holidays.
Willing to travel: 2 miles
Experience: I have been a private tutor for a year now; during this time, I have taught students with a range of abilities, studying at different levels and I have seen significant increases in grades as well as confidence. I was also a mentor for students of AS-level Maths, while studying for my A-levels. I provided help with subject areas they found difficult and aided their understanding as required.
With this experience, I am confident in tutoring all major exam boards for KS3, GCSE and A-level.
I have also volunteered as an after school club supervisor for younger children and have teaching assistant experience in primary classes.
