As a mother of three grown-up children, I have a nurturing and caring nature that extends beyond my family to my beloved dogs and the tropical and marine fish I care for. Despite facing challenges with Mathematics during my school years, I persevered and eventually found a patient and understanding teacher who helped me build confidence in the subject during the final two years of my education. This positive experience has left a lasting impact on me and fuels my passion for helping others who may struggle with Math.

My personal journey has taught me the importance of having a patient and supportive approach to teaching, especially when working with individuals who may feel discouraged or lacking in confidence. I firmly believe in the power of empathy and encouragement in fostering a positive learning environment. Every step of progress, no matter how small, is celebrated, as I understand that from these small victories, significant achievements can emerge, much like a tiny acorn growing into a majestic oak tree.

My goal as an educator is to instill self-esteem and self-assurance in my students, empowering them to overcome challenges and realize their full potential. By tailoring my teaching methods to suit the individual needs and learning styles of my students, I strive to create a safe and supportive space where they feel comfortable asking questions and exploring the world of Mathematics.

My dedication to building confidence and providing a positive learning experience stems from my own journey of transformation and growth in the subject. I am committed to making a difference in the lives of my students, ensuring they develop the skills and mindset to succeed not only in Math but also in other aspects of their academic and personal lives.

Availability: Weekday evenings, some daytime and Saturday.
I am also available during the day on Thursday and Friday and welcome Home educated students.

Experience: As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a specialization in Mathematics, I have been an integral part of the Maths Department in a Secondary school. Over the course of 15 years, I have successfully taught small groups of students, primarily focusing on GCSE level (Foundation) Mathematics. My expertise extends across all age groups, ranging from Year 7 to Year 11.

Throughout my teaching journey, I have also engaged in private tutoring for over 14 years, working closely with individual students. It brings me immense joy to witness my students achieve their academic goals under my guidance and support.

My experience as an HLTA and private tutor has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the GCSE Mathematics curriculum and various effective teaching techniques. I am committed to creating a supportive and conducive learning environment where students can grasp mathematical concepts with confidence. My tutoring approach emphasizes a student-centered methodology, tailoring the learning process to meet each student`s unique learning style and needs.
