Information about Jennifer
Bachelor of Arts (Joint Hons) in English Literature and Journalism, Post-graduate Certificate of Education, QTS, Master of Education:
Presently a Teacher of English at Secondary level (including A level), with other responsibilities including: English Progress Coordinator and Second in charge of English (previously Head of Media Studies).
I have the experience and repertoire of skills to deliver a high standard of teaching which is progression centred (be it booster sessions or intensive courses for children or adults).
I am very personable and I pride myself on my ability to build rapport between myself and my tutees whilst maintaining the primary objective.
The expertise quintessential for optimal performance within the aforementioned educational establishment have been reinforced by my employment with UK examination boards (AQA and Edexcel) for the past 7 years, wherein I have assumed the position of examiner and moderator.
In terms of academic qualifications, those of which I have attained go above and beyond the requirements of a classroom teacher: a Masters level degree within Education. Throughout the duration of the course I was bestowed the opportunity to explore various aspects of Education (such as: curriculum, learning and assessment, Gifted and Talented provision, and metacognition). This learning (and professional) development has opened up a plethora of knowledge to be applied in the field, allowing me to explore the composition of teaching and learning and effective frameworks whilst also shaping my own pedagogy within the profession.
Outside of the realms of education, I also partake in freelance writing as a `ghost-writer` for small businesses wherein my repertoire of English skills and expertise - alongside my experience in Journalism and Public Relations - are utilised.

Feedback For Jennifer (3)

Jennifer really engaged my 13 year old son in learning. He looks forward to his lessons with her and her subject knowledge is excellent.

Jennifer is friendly and positive and she has been easy to contact and flexible regarding the scheduling of lessons. My daughter (studying for a retake in GCSE English Language) reports that lessons are useful and they appear to be considered and focused. It is early days so this is just an interim report but given our experience so far, I`d be happy to recommend Jennifer. Janet

Would highly recommend Jen as a tutor. My son has made significant progress over the time he has been tutored by her. She has helped him gain confidence with his English. Improving his grades.
