Hello, I am Ling, an enthusiastic educator dedicated to instilling a love for mathematics in students from Year 1 to GCSE. My passion lies in making math a delightful adventure for learners, empowering them with tools for lifelong success. Armed with a First Class honours degree in Master of Pharmacy from the University of Manchester and a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Bath, I bring a unique perspective to math tutoring.

Experience: About me: I am not your typical math tutor. In addition to holding a Master degree in Pharmacy and a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry, both obtained with full scholarships, I have won multiple academic awards. I possess a comprehensive understanding of exam techniques and strategies, equipping students with skills needed to excel in crucial exams such as 7+, 11+ and GCSE. Drawing from my own academic achievements, including a “Equal First in the World” in A Level Mathematics and “Second in the World” in A-Level Chemistry from the Cambridge International Examination Board and an Outstanding Academic Achievement from the University of Manchester, I am adept at guiding students through intricacies of exams. My goal is not only to impart mathematical knowledge but also to ensure that students approach exams with confidence, utilising effective study methods.

Teaching experience: I possess a diverse teaching background, ranging from young children in math to A-level, undergraduate, MSc and pharmacy pre-registration students in science-related subjects. My expertise has earned me the title of Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, acknowledging my contributions to education.

Teaching Method: Each student is unique, and so are my lessons. I customise my teaching to match the individual learning styles and pace of each student. I create an encouraging environment where students can make mistakes, learn from them, and build confidence to tackle math challenges.

Real-World Relevance: As a UK GPhC-registered pharmacist with extensive experience in community and hospital pharmacies and industry, I bridge the gap between theoretical math concepts and their practical applications in the real world. I will show students how math is an essential tool in solving real-life problems and making informed decisions.
