Fully qualified and enthusiastic GCSE and A Level science teacher with both specialisms in Biology and Chemistry. I have 3 + years experience teaching and educated to a Masters level from the University of Leeds and York with a strong focus on Biochemistry.

A warm, approachable tutor who will coach pupils through difficulties in understanding or gaps in knowledge. I can focus on subject knowledge or exam preparation and technique to ensure tutees get the best grade possible. I have a plethora of different resources to help my students reach their potential and I have the attitude that anyone can be the best given the right time and opportunity.

My teaching style consists of highlighting areas of weakness and misconceptions in my tutees knowledge and working hard to correct this. I aim to motivate, encourage and push pupils to do their best. At set Intervals i will provide diagnostic worksheets and quizzes to highlight specific progress and enhanced understanding in order to show my pupils the rewards of hard work and perseverance. I can also use this to Inform my tutoring practice.

I provide summer schemes to prepare pupils for entering year 7-11 and post 16. I aim to give pupils the confidence for secondary science by providing a solid framework of ‘big ideas’ in science that underpin our national curriculum.

I studied my PGCE at the University of York which gave me up to date and cutting edge teaching experience that i can translate into my tutoring. I have run revision classes for many years but only recently become a official tutor. As it is currently the summer holidays i am completely flexible on time and will work around you.
