Information about Ankit
Hello! I am an Oxford University English graduate who has taught GCSE and English A-Level for 5 years: learn more about my experience below. My teaching method is always tailored to the needs of individual students, but broadly I am informal, compassionate and strategic in my approach. I hope to create a supportive learning environment where students can express their ideas with confidence, and help them learn to write in ways that address the mark scheme every time. I encourage my students to work hard, and regularly set homework, so they do their very best.
My tutoring experience has been rewarding, and I`m lucky enough to have received good feedback from my students.
CLIENT TESTIMONIALS
Parent of a GCSE student.
`Ankit is an amazing tutor. He really helped my son out during his GCSE, he brought my son up 3 grades. He has an unique way of teaching and my son really enjoyed his English lessons. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an English tutor, Ankit really goes above and beyond to teach his students`.
Parent of an A-Level and GCSE student.
`Ankit tutored my dyslexic son for both his English Literature gcse and A level courses. He is a fantastic tutor, sympathetic to individual learning styles and so passionate about his subject that he readily engages and motivates his learners. He has a lovely sense of humour and a warm and engaging personality - both of which make such a difference in one to one support. I would thoroughly recommend him`.
Parent of a KS3 and GCSE student.
`Ankit is a fantastic teacher with his exceptional work ethic and utilises his experience as a student to assist in teaching, which proves a valuable lesson towards the tutee. My child`s technique in English has improved immensely - I greatly recommend Ankit as a teacher`.
Parent of a GCSE student
`Ankit was my 16-year-old sons English tutor preparing for GCSEs. He was very caring and supportive and had a wealth of knowledge on the course my son was learning. Ankit set homework weekly and would go over this with my son, showing him how to improve. I would recommend Ankit as a tutor as he is extremely knowledgeable and my son enjoyed his lessons`.
Availability: I tutor in the afternoon and evenings 7 days a week. Outside of sessions, I mark homework that I set weekly. Homework often involves YouTube videos and other helpful materials that make students` learning more varied. I can also provide parents with reports on the students` progress whenever they like.

Experience: - I`ve taught more than 20 students, at a range of levels
- A group I worked with in 2017 achieved 8s and 9s at English GCSE.
- I was hired by a study site to create revision materials for popular GCSE exam modules including AQA`s `Conflict` and `Love` poetry clusters, and William Golding`s `Lord of the Flies`. This means I have many helpful resources.
- I received 100% in all my GCSE English exams and 99% in English Literature A Level while studying at a state comprehensive school.
- I can also help with Oxbridge entrance, including help with Personal Statements and the ELAT.
