Information about Ralph
I am an enthusiastic teacher with a passion for science. My tutoring places emphasis on practical learning skills which can be applied to all subjects. I make links between topics and real life so that the learner sees the relevance of what they are learning, no matter their age.
This is what other people have said to me:
`I would never have had a chance without you! You have inspired me and now I can`t imagine my future without me having a job in science. I am so grateful` Pupil
`It is lovely to find a teacher who can `hook them in` for both of mine. Please keep doing what you do, the kids coming through are lucky to have you.` Parent
`It is a real pleasure to know someone so thoughtful and it is hoped your kindness will always be returned to you.` Trainee teacher
Availability: Sunday -Friday, 08:00-19:00
Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: I have over 25 years of teaching experience, most recently teaching science at key stages 2,3 and 4. I have a wide range of educational experience; private, mainstream and custodial, so I inspire students from all backgrounds.
I make science relevant and specific to the learner. Encouraging achievement by linking positive events or activities - supporting learners to build bridges between past experiences, leading to future successes.
Working in collaboration with several universities, I am also a researched based practitioner leading colleagues to develop understanding of learner community pedagogy. The purpose is to guide teachers to maintain awareness of all learners, children and adult, helping clear misconceptions which prevent more in-depth understanding and facilitating collaborative knowledge building. Current projects include a textbook on mentoring new teachers in collaboration with Bedford and Strathclyde universities.
