I have been Head of English at an outstanding school for the past four years and have vast experience of teaching and designing curriculum for KS3 National Curriculum, GCSE, A Level and IB. I have taught Edexcel GCSE, CIE IGCSE, AQA A Level and IB English Language & Literature. I have an Honours Degree in English Literature from the University of St Andrews and have been teaching for 10 years.

This year, the 18 students whom I taught attained 100% A*-A in IGCSE English Language and 100% A*-A in IGCSE English Literature. The average A*-A results for the Department were 91% in English Language and 84% in English Literature.I have consistently helped students to attain over 70% A*-B at A Level and an average point score of 6.18 at IB. Students whom I have tutored consistently exceed their predicted grades and raise their achievement thanks to my organised approach and emphasis on student empowerment.

Tutorials can cover any aspect of English Language or English Literature that you wish. My promise is that they will be engaging, tailored to you and delivered to an extremely high standard. The systematic approach gives ownership and responsibility to the student, guaranteeing results and offering value for money.

I offer one-to-one, or group tutoring online. This offers flexibility for you and a comfortable, safe and familiar environment. This can be done via Zoom or Microsoft Teams and will include an initial conversation with parents to ensure they are comfortable with the tutoring arrangements. All sessions will include tailored resources, one-to-one discussion and independent work with feedback.

Experience: I have been a secondary school teacher in outstanding Independent Schools for the past 10 years and have been a Head of Department for the past four. Before my work in schools, I taught at a postgraduate journalism college.

I have taught AQA, OCR, Edexcel and CIE examination boards, examining for most of them, as well as having taught IB for the past four years. I am capable of teaching any aspect of English Literature (A Level and below) and any aspect of English Language (A Level and below).
