Hello there,
I’m Tom and I am a teacher of eight years, specialising in Eduqas A Level Media Studies for four of the last five. I have taught in outstanding schools and colleges across the country including in Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire and central Oxford.
I am also a writer who features in this quarter’s edition of MediaMag and whose Media Studies-related Patreon page has been live since December 2023 (link above).
I am looking to tutor students who:
Began their first year of A Level Media Studies in September 2023.
Began their second year of A Level Media Studies in September 2023.
Are looking to start A Level Media Studies in September 2024.
I can create programmes around either Component 1 or Component 2, around an introduction to Media Studies, and/ or around key terminology and theorists. Programmes can be tailored around the wants and needs of students and can be amended at any point. Whilst I specialise in the Eduqas specification, I would be happy to hear from students studying with other exam boards.

Why so expensive?
I appreciate I am new to TutorHunt and have a high price point. Why? That’s a great question. There are two reasons:
1) I am a freelancer. I gave up teaching full time at the end of 2023 and writing and tutoring is now how I make my living. This is not a hobby or side hustle but how I will feed myself and keep a roof over my head. I will not be able to do this if I sell myself short.
2) Because I think I am worth it. Like I say, I have taught Media Studies in outstanding schools and colleges for four out of the past five years. I have received fantastic testimonials when I have chosen to move on from these institutions and my students really like my style of teaching. I want you to think of this high price point as being a mark of quality.
