Hello! I`m an experienced teacher of English as a second language, with experience tutoring a wide range of ages from young children to adult learners. I have also taught English Literature and academic writing for university admissions.

With a BA in jurisprudence from the University of Oxford, I am well qualified to tutor law to A-level or university students, and am also happy to help build and develop essay writing confidence and critical thinking ability.

I also offer tuition in Mandarin Chinese. I speak Mandarin to a very high standard, being mixed British-Chinese and having lived in China for 3.5 years. This year I will be studying for a Masters in Chinese Studies at SOAS. While in China, I took and passed the highest level of the HSK, the standardised test for Chinese, and I would be happy to help you prepare for your GCSE, A-level or HSK exam.

At school, I obtained straight As at A2 and AS level and straight A*s in my GCSEs. I would be able to help you prepare for your GCSE or A-level in English (Language or Literature), Law, History or Chinese.

Availability: I am currently available on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during the day and after school.

Experience: I have 3.5 years experience teaching in China. I taught spoken and written English to undergraduates at the top university in Sichuan province, where I was living. I also worked in an after-school training centre where I tutored younger children (aged 3-18). In addition, I had a number of private students and taught a range of disciplines, including law, English Literature (KS1, KS2 and 13+) and business English.

I am an extremely conscientious, caring tutor who endeavours to make learning fun and relevant for my students. This means I take the time to find out what you want and need from our lessons together, and plan content appropriately.
