Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: In 2010, I was employed by an independent school in the heart of Preston city. I was employed to take on the roles and responsibilities of a year 5 class teacher. I had sole responsibility for the education of all the children within the class. I would teach according to the guidelines of the National Curriculum as well as planning and preparing lessons. Maintenance of good order and discipline among the children and safeguards their health and safety was my number one priority.
Together with the SENCo I had responsibility for differentiating the curriculum to meet the individual needs of all children within the class. The Assessment of Pupil Progress (APP) was also carried out as well as devising assessment records and reports on the developmental progress and attainment of all children. It was my sole duty to promote the wellbeing of individual children. I would also submit reports for the annual review process as well as liaising with the parents and other professionals to further the childs progress.
Prior to this, I was a Key Stage 2 teaching assistant in a year 5 class at a Church of England school for 2 years. Whilst being employed there, I was also a nursery nurse at an independent day care. 6 months into my work, I was promoted to a supervisory role. Organising play activities to develop, stimulate and promote all childrenâs learning and development was only one of my daily routines. It was crucial to plan and implement activities to ensure each individual childs developmental need is met. I would be responsible for monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the activities and progress of the children, to ensure that they are reaching their full potential. As part of a supervisory role, it was imperative that I possessed good communication skills as I work very closely with parents and carers.
Since then I have taught in an outstanding Primary School in Bolton. As well as this I have covered maternity leave in a high school teaching Citizenship at GCSE level. I currently tutor many children from various backgrounds including international students via skype.
