The following daytime slots are available Tuesday mornings at 11.20am & Thursday mornings at 9am and 10.10am. These slots may suit 6th formers with free periods on their timetable, home schooled students or adult learners.

I am qualified Maths teacher with over 20 years teaching experience. Throughout this time as well as teaching Maths to all ability levels across Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level, I have regularly worked with students on a 1 - 1 basis or in small groups, either for intervention purposes or to prepare students for exams.
As well as teaching I am an examiner for four of the main exam boards at both GCSE and A Level.
I am based in South Gloucestershire, but for the coming year I will only be tutoring online, using Zoom and teaching using Bitpaper and sharing resources and copies of our online work through OneNote.
I am always happy to have an introductory meeting with parents and the student to discuss what you wish to achieve before commencing tuition. I do not charge for this initial meeting.
I can also provide electronic feedback after each session, to detail areas covered, progress made during the session and areas the student should work on before our next session.
Enhanced DBS check and Qualifications can be made available during our first meeting.

As well as the usual Maths GCSE and A Level, I have taught the GCSE Statistics, the AQA Level 2 certificate in Further Maths and also some Further Maths modules at A level.

I highly recommend Paul as a maths tutor. My son has had him as a tutor for the 2 years of A level.At school he worked well in lessons but found exams difficult. I have to say that Paul really helped him through how to answer questions, what to look for and most importantly to be confident in his ability. He built up a great rapport and was always approachable & helpful with any questions from either of us.He always assured myself and my son that the ability was there and could see the areas needing focus on. My son was predicted a C/D in his A levels and has just achieved an A. I absolutely believe that this result has been down to Paul and cannot thank him enough for this.

It’s early days with Paul tutoring my son for A’level maths, but all seems to be going well. My son enjoys the lessons. Paul is always prepared and has offered great advice and recommendations for tools and books. Great communication between Paul and my son and with me (the parent ) too.

Paul has been an excellent and friendly tutor for our daughter. She very much enjoyed the lessons and Paul helped her stay engaged with maths over the long Summer holidays as well as prepared her very well for the next school year and upcoming exams. We are impressed with his well-structured teaching and clever online recording of work, which allows students to go back to each lesson and revise independently.

Paul worked with our son in the four weeks leading up to his Year 12 UCAS predicted grades maths exam and helped him immensely. He was professional and patient, and provided excellent resources. He took him from a C to a high B, which we’re delighted with. Highly recommend!

Great start with Paul with my son’s A level maths tutoring. Paul plans the lessons really well and maximises use of software to aid virtual teaching. It will be easy for my son to look over different topics over the course of his A level teaching as everything is filed to facilitate easy retrieval. Really happy.

Paul is currently helping my daughter with her A level Maths. He is very good in organising the lesson, he provides great tools to help with the learning, including past papers and revision notes. Paul has a very good teaching technique that my daughter has found extremely useful during her lessons. His diverse experience on the exam boards is a valuable added bonus and has provided a wider platform and knowledge pool when it comes to exam questions and topics. The lessons are currently on-line (see COVID-19) but he has made the whole experience very engaging and seamless. I would highly recommend Paul.

Paul is a brilliant tutor, he is well mannered, polite, and has great knowledge and understanding of the subject. Throughout my weekly lessons with Paul, he has taught me valuable knowledge in a variety of key topics I have found difficult in the past. By breaking down certain elements into a structured way that suited me. Alongside this, Pauls`s lessons are well prepared before hand, also he always likes to go the extra mile.
