I am currently a Maths teacher at a local secondary school and offer tuition in Maths up to GCSE level. I achieved an A* in Mathematics at A level and an A in Further Maths AS level and have been tutoring Maths for about a year and a half. In terms of university education, I graduated in June 2016 with a high 2.1 from Cambridge University where I studied Philosophy. I became an academic scholar of my college after my first year exams. I am passionate about learning and education in general and am excited to be able to share my knowledge.

I passionately believe that everyone has the ability to be proficient in Maths and have high but realistically achievable expectations of my tutees. I believe that building up confidence with Maths is an essential part of the process and as such I hope to make sessions as successful and enjoyable as possible for the student. Once confidence improves, in my experience so far, so do results.

Experience: I am currently a Maths teacher at a secondary school and, prior to that, worked as a Maths teaching assistant. As a result, I am used to working with a range of abilities with various strengths, challenges and targets. I have tutored several students of various ages in a combination of Maths, English and Philosophy (although now I focus exclusively on Maths). Most of what I have done with previous students has been working to build their confidence in a subject they struggle with. I often find that once their confidence improves, students find that they are much better at the subject than they thought they were.

Moreover, I have always enjoyed education myself and love the process of both learning and teaching. As a result, I am always excited to be able to help students both to understand material better, but also hopefully to come to find more enjoyment and confidence in their Maths studies.
