I am a qualified primary school teacher with over 25 years experience teaching across the primary age range. After working at schools in London for 15 years I taught in International Schools in the fascinating city of Cairo, for another 10 years. It was while living in Cairo that I first started tutoring and I loved it! I enjoy the flexibility to develop programmes of work that are uniquely tailored to each individual and seeing them progress and develop. I am currently working as a tutor with two different tutoring companies and like many tutors have switched to working online during the Covid-19 outbreak.
As well as many years of classroom teaching I have experience in tutoring both individuals and small groups in English and Maths, Year 2 and Year 6 SATs preparation and 11+ preparation. I also have experience in teaching beginner violin/ viola and piano. I use an online teaching platform called Bramble which I have found to be very effective in communicating with students.
I am currently undertaking further study to become a specialist dyslexia teacher and also have a great deal of experience in working with students for whom English is not their first language.

26 years working in primary schools in London, Cairo and Wolverhampton. I have taught all years from Y1 to Y6, apart from Year 2. However, most of my teaching experience has been in keystage 2. I have worked as both a Maths and Literacy Co-ordinator as well as being a Curriculum Co-ordinator and Head of keystage 2.

My tutoring experience includes:
Weekly Year 2 and Year 6 booster groups (Maths and English).
Individual tutoring for 11+ and secondary entrance exam preparation.
Individual tutoring in English, helping EAL learners improve their writing; content, planning, spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Qualifications:
11 O levels, including English Language, English Literature, Maths and Additional Maths
3 A levels: English, French, Music
BSc Hons (2:2) in Music

Teaching Qualifications:
PGCE in Primary Education.
I am currently studying towards the Level 5 Certificate ‘Dyslexia; Literacy, Support and Intervention’ with the British Dyslexia Association.

I have a current, up to date DBS and am enrolled on the update system.
I am an individual member of The Tutor`s Association.
