Information about Asli

KCL Biochemistry graduate 2.1 with a MSc in Human Molecular Genetics Imperial. At the moment I am working as a qualified science teacher in a secondary school teaching biology, chemistry and physics. I endeveоur tо оffer pupils а cоmfоrtаble аnd prоductive leаrning envirоnment.I am great with teenagers and have a good subject knowledge. Throughout my academic career I have gained laboratory research experience in both molecular and genetic research. From my research project in MSc Human Molecular Genetics (Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics at Oxford University) I have gained experience in the field of cellular biology where I have worked with human embryonic kidney cells, colon cells and renal cell lines. I have worked in the KCL Division of Diabetes and Nutritional Sciences lab and also in the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics which has led to have multidisciplinary lab experience.
As a teacher I am a good facilitator, assessor and role model for all pupils. I have a desire for self-development and also have the capacity to be alert and enthusiastic. Although this is a challenging profession through my skills and potential I believe that I have been successful in my in teaching. I have got many transferable skills where I have worked with young children both in school and outside school setting. I have got a good knowledge of special educational need students due to my role as a science learning support assistant (LSA). As a LSA I was supporting 11-16 year olds during lesson time and also outside of lesson time within small intervention groups. These sessions were mostly exam focused and the aim of the sessions was to prepare the students for the exams emotionally and mentally. I feel that I have got a variety of different skills as I come from a scientific research background.
