Information about Sal

I am a fully qualified tutor with 4 years of successful experience and a high 1st class master`s degree in biochemical immunology. I am proud to say I have tutored 40 repeat students so far in 1-1 and 1-3 lessons while working privately and with various organizations and schools. 30 of those students have been taught online using various interactive technology. I also have a separate 2 years` worth of secondary school classroom experience and I am familiar with the academic curriculums.

Tutoring is an enjoyable career for me, and I am dedicated on improving not only student achievement, but also engagement. I adapt my teaching methods for each tutee’s needs and requests, but I generally focus on creating a safe environment for students to learn and make mistakes while we fix their gaps in knowledge and skills with practice questions and well explained concepts. Homework, home experiments and outside of lesson communication and questions are available at no extra cost.

So far, I have received excellent feedback from tutees for both science and mathematics on tutor-hunt and elsewhere. While the credit goes to the students` efforts, I share below a few excellent academic improvements my students have had so far:

An A level chemistry student who previously achieved a D, achieved an A after 2 months of 4 lessons per week.

A GCSE student who was predicted a 1 in Chemistry and a 4 in Maths, achieved a 7 in both after 2 lessons per week for 2 terms.

A GCSE student who was consistently achieving 6/7 in maths was able to get a grade 9 in the end!

One student needed help after receiving 9/80 in a KS3 science exams and is now around the pass mark.

Disclaimer: While all tutees so far have demonstrated some improvement and are/were satisfied with my service, I cannot guarantee any outcome and the results above are not typical. The students mentioned worked extremely hard. I will inspire, motivate, and work hard for my students but the effort and willingness to follow guidance needs to also come from them for drastic changes.

Overall, I am confident that students will be satisfied with my lessons, and I am happy to offer a full single lesson refund no strings attached to any student who feels their recent lesson was not up to standard. I do also offer small class/group lessons at a large discount per student and if this is of interest, please do drop me a message. Small discounts are also available to International, adult and home learners who are available long term for lessons during the day (UK time).

I hope to hear from you soon!!

Please have a look on tutorhunt for reviews filled by past or current tutees but I also have reviews by students outside tutorhunt detailed below:

Imad Chakiri: “Saleh is a very understandable and easy-going person which makes him the perfect individual for a role such as tutoring as he is able to teach any one and make everything easy for them. His great and humbling personality makes him the perfect tutor.”

Ibrahim Wajid: “Great tutor, explains everything in detail and goes above and beyond what a regular tutor would feel like they would have to do and always checks in with how your doing in school before going into his own lesson to make sure you are comfortable with work at school and even does extra days to make sure you’re well prepared for exams.”

Muhammed Hanif: “Saleh is an excellent tutor and really puts his all into helping you achieve a better grade. He does a lot of planning into lessons and spends a lot of time trying to analyse your weaknesses where he then focuses on how to improve them. You can tell he genuinely puts in a lot of effort into helping you and he also helps motivate you. He’s good at explaining things and coming up with analogies to help portray what he’s trying to teach. Over all If someone’s looking to get a tutor I highly recommend Saleh”

Sal has a wide range of knowledge of the syllabus of all of KS3 and KS4, including being able to provide Syllabus sheets to mark off when a section is learned in the lesson and has many exams styled questions on hand. Even though online learning presents many challenges compared to face-to-face learning. Sal puts in the effort to make the lesson feel like face-to-face learning. For example, during the lessons Sal uses an online whiteboard which makes it feel like I am learning in school face to face which in my opinion helps me learn the most, and also makes it easier for me to go over everything learned as it is right in front of me. Sal also tries to make online tutoring/learning more face to face by using real-life situations to explain concepts and how things work including, occasionally using the objects around and putting them on the screen to demonstrate how something works which I think is going the extra mile. For homework, Sal sets a decent amount of homework that strongly relates to what has been learned in the lesson, at school, and from past lessons to help me work on answering exam styled questions which better prepares me for my assessments. Ever since Sal has started tutoring me, I have overall felt more confident with assessments as he has given me many exam styled questions and has told me how to improve my answers to better fit an examiner`s requirements to get higher marks which have gotten me higher marks. All these points above and many more are why I think Sal is a great tutor and I think you would too!

My daughter is in year 10 & has been struggling with maths for a while. She was a bit nervous about maths tuition especially online however Sal from the first session has made her feel comfortable & more at ease already with maths & her ability in getting a pass in year 11. She has only had a few sessions with him so far but she is enjoying it & said thanks mum it`s helping. The conversations I have had with him have also been very professional & helpful. I would recommend anyone who needs the help to see if Sal is suitable for you.

Five star Chemistry tutoring with Sal. My daughter confidence has grown and it is noticeable after each weekly session. Sal`s calm methodical approach is helping my daughter to understand and grasp the concepts she found difficult to pick up in her large class setting at school. Highly recommend Sal to parents whose children are not coping well in large class settings and require one to one in understanding the mysteries of chemistry.

Very professional and he cares a lot about the progress of his students. My daughter really enjoys her science class with him as he simplified it to her. Gave her a lot of confidence that reflects on the results of her assignments. Highly recommended him.

Sal has been tutoring my son online for a few weeks and I cannot be more pleased. Sal is patient and takes the time to explain each topic and formula so it is understood. His use of a whiteboard is a great visual and my son likes being taught in this way. Sal`s prices are reasonable, he is always respectful. He makes a point to make contact during the week to check on my son`s progress with homework that was set, or if he needed any help in between tutor sessions. I cannot rate Sal highly enough and I highly recommend him as a tutor.

Sal is knowledgeable both within his subject field and in skills such as organisation, time management, essay-writing, and presenting. Organised and punctual, he prepares for each session in advance, with the lessons always starting on time. He is friendly, understanding, and easy to get on with. As someone who is generally shy with new people, I appreciate Sal’s ability to make one feel at ease in a conversation. He makes it ‘safe’ to make mistakes, which has proven to be very effective at encouraging me to be more active than in class or with other tutors I’ve had. Sal lets you feel like you`re perfectly capable of doing what you need to. He also adapts to his tutees’ needs and preferences in things like the pace at which you go through the material, level of detail you go into, and how much homework you want to have, if any. For example: because I have a processing issue that makes it difficult to write, especially while talking, Sal takes notes on the whiteboard and makes sure to pause when I am taking notes. He is patient and never rushes me, only continuing when I say I’m ready to move on. Sal gives thorough feedback with constructive criticism and attention to detail, as well as much-needed praise on strong points of your response. It is clear that Sal puts a lot of effort into his work, and is dedicated to helping his students, offering to assist with any questions or difficulties you may have between sessions via email. What I especially like about Sal is that he challenges and encourages you to push limits - for example: whenever we are covering a topic from the A-level curriculum, he gives me more detail on the subject to deepen my understanding (which I value very much), while also giving me advice and tasks to prepare for university
