Information about Emma
I am a Social Science and Social Issues in Healthcare Lecturer. This means I teach Psychology, Criminology and Nursing. I run the Social Science pathway and have been a qualified teacher for 5 years. Previous to my current role, I have experience teaching Psychology aswell as Health and Social Care in Outstanding Colleges. I have taught on exam boards such as AQA, OCR and Ascentis. As I teach alot of Research Methods, I am handy when it comes to Maths and Statistics, as well as frequent essay writing- I can help with English too! I have clients from Primary School, right up to degree level. I am a well respected teacher and only have high standards and expect the best for my students. I truly believe anyone can achieve what they want to achieve, as long as they want it enough and work hard for it. I try to make sessions fun and interactive aswell as informative. I can set homework and work on Personal Statements, also. I am about to become a published author!

My latest performance review:
All Emmas marks were agreed without controversy. She undertook 100% of the teaching on Access to Social Science as well as delivering on the Access to Nursing and Midwifery and Access to Allied Healthcare pathways. The Access to Social Science achievements were 27.4% above national average and the Nursing pathway was 8% and Allied was 22% all very strong figures. Emma also delivered the Study Skills element of the Diploma to both Science and Social Science. This has traditionally been a troublesome module with students prioritising other areas of the Diploma, however the highly structural approach taken by the team paid benefits and all work was submitted to a high standard and timely. Emma had a successful probation that was signed off in the nine month period following positive teaching observations. She was also part of the Access team when they achieved Team of the Term, which also was in recognition of the highly complementary Ascentis Centre Review Report. In terms of Great Teaching, Emma looked at improving questioning techniques for adults via digital learning and she shared her progress and ideas with the department at a Spotlight session looking at Hot Seats and Kahoot.
