I graduated from Oxford University two years ago, where I studied History and Politics as a joint-honours degree. This combination of subjects gave me an unusual and highly useful viewpoint from which to study recent historical and political events, such as the rise and fall of socialism in Europe, or the civil unrest in Northern Ireland that preceeded the Troubles. I came to specialise in modern social history, with an interest in the historical development of political thought. I focused mainly on Northern Ireland, but I also studied political and social trends of the 21st centry across the globe. My studies in politics also gave me a thorough grounding in philosophy, and how to use the techniques of philosophical debate across disciplines.

Experience: Since graduating, I have worked for a London-based mental health charity and, for the past year, I have been teaching English with an NGO based in Athens. This experience inspired me to want to teach longterm.
