Information about Sharon

I am a qualified British solicitor as well as a South Africa attorney. I have worked in the UK and South Africa. My past experience includes working as an attorney, prosecutor, lecturer and tutor. In London I was the director of a law tutoring business where we lectured and tutored LLB students from the UK and abroad in all the core LLB subjects. I have been lecturing in South Africa for a number of years. My remit has included LLB students, members of the police force, court personnel, attorneys, social workers, health workers and clerks of the court.
During my career I have lectured and tutored on various legal subjects including criminal law, criminal procedure, the law of evidence, the law of tort, civil procedure, constitutional law, interpretation of statutes, domestic violence legislation, harassment act legislation, consumer protection law, the child justice act etc.
I am currently the chairperson of the curriculum committee of Justice College, which is the training arm of the Department of Justice.
I have been lecturing for the college for the past 12 years. I also have two diplomas (teaching English as a foreign language and teaching business English as a foreign language) and have completed assessors and moderators courses.

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: I have over thirty years of experience in law. Some experience was in private practice where I did divorces, general practice and a great deal of criminal and civil work. Working as a prosecutor enabled me to gain specialised experience in criminal trials. I have also lectured extensively in the core legal LLB subjects.
Whilst in the UK I drafted many legal manuals and notes for students. Working for the Department of Justice I am also currently involved with the drafting of manuals, notes and lectures for our target audience.
I have completed an Editing, Proofreading and Copywriting course through the College of Media and Publishing under the auspices of the University of Bristol in the UK. The purpose of this course is to ensure that all lectures, notes, power points and other study material are written correctly and concisely. I also recently attended the Exceptional Training in MS Teams for Trainers delivered by a 2 man training team in the UK and organised by the National Prosecuting Authority.
