Information about Rishi
I graduated from a top Russell Group university in London with a First Class and Oral Distinctions in French and German and am now pursuing my studies at The University of Law in London.
I lived abroad in French speaking Switzerland and Germany and have spent time tutoring there as well as in the UK.
One of my main interests has been the role of multilingualism and culture in Switzerland, referred to as the "Röstigraben" in the Media, and this is an area that I also chose to write my dissertation on.
Despite being a tutor, I still consider myself to be a learner, having studied languages myself. I understand the challenges that students face when learning foreign languages as well as their own. This is something that I always bear in mind, when delivering lessons.
Tutees have often commended my personable nature and natural patience when teaching, which I believe is an asset to ensuring that tutees achieve their goals and I achieve mine.
Availability: I am able to teach in the evenings during the weekdays and am available on weekends as well.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have many years of experience tutoring students of all ages. I have taught French to young pupils aged 6-9 as well as prepared students for their GCSE German examinations.
I have also spent a considerable amount of time teaching outside of the UK and have taught English and German to expats, NGO workers, school pupils as well as pensioners at École Varadi in Geneva, Switzerland.
My students have been of all ages and of varying levels and needs. I have prepared students for school examinations, for studying abroad and also for employment. All of my students have passed and received top marks in their examinations.
I adopt a unique teaching approach, developed in Geneva, that differs from conventional teaching methods. Classes are based on an interactive exchange between the student and the teacher, with vocabulary and grammar integrated into the lessons in a practical way.
This approach spares the student from having to learn long lists of vocabulary and instead the focus is placed on learning how to reformulate vocabulary in different contexts and communicate without hesitating.
